What is happening when 'Payroll area blocked'?
When the Payroll dept is running the payroll, users are blocked from changing any master data ie applying for leave or changing any personal information, and this is displayed to the user as ‘Payroll area blocked’. During this time, ESS is still open to display information.
After the payroll run is completed, ESS will be unblocked and master data changes are allowed. ESS would be blocked for approx half a day for the payroll run.
